On September 24-25, Korea’s No.1 fitness brand, DRAX hosted the ‘2022 DRAX Championship,’
a bodybuilding competition held at Paradise City’s Chroma in Jung-gu, Incheon.
Here’s a peek into the backstage of the DRAX Championship,
which we’ve been working hard for months to showcase the best of the best!
How is the bodybuilding competition different when hosted by Korea’s No.1 fitness brand?
DRAX designed each process with precision, from reception to stage preparation,
to ensure the athletes can stand on stage in their perfect form.
“The best waiting space”
We arranged various exercise equipment, including DRAX Pure Plate, at the pumping zone for athletes’ final pumping and posture checks.
We prepared an outdoor pumping zone for athletes who wanted to pump early, and an indoor pumping zone for those who wanted to check their details until the final minute.
The athletes could fill the last 0.01% just before going up on stage effectively with DRAX Pure Plate, which has the essence of ergonomics.
“A magnificent stage”
The stage where the athletes showed their poses was equipped with the country’s best stage systems and sound equipment.
The competition was broadcasted live on YouTube through three broadcasting ENG cameras, including one Jimmy Jib, for those who couldn’t watch in person.
“The biggest scale in Korea, ₩100 million prize”
Is there anything else that could make the athletes happy besides honor and the prize?
The venue was filled with tension and cheers for each award due to the incredible scale of the prize that’s rarely seen in Korea,
including up to ₩15 million for the Grand Prix and ₩1 million for each category.
In addition, DRAX gave support and encouragement to athletes to continue their exercise after the competition through two Star Awards (₩1 million prize each),
five Popularity Awards (₩200,000 prize each), and the Most Participation Award and the Most Awards (Stair Climber worth ₩5 million).
“Smart evaluation with an electronic (digital) scoring method!”
The 2022 DRAX Championship introduced a ‘real-time electronic scoring method’ for a transparent and fair evaluation.
The judges entered their scores on the device placed in front of them,
and the counter automatically added up the scores and ranked them in real time.
This method offered reliability as no one other than the judges could intervene.
It also added up in real time, removing any unnecessary waiting time.
This transparency and fairness elevated the DRAX Championship’s prestige.
Introducing the athletes who shone at the DRAX Championship
The athletes stood shining brightly on the stage prepared by DRAX.
It is rumored that both the judges and the audience couldn’t close their mouths in awe due to the athletes’
incredible performance and skills, including the previous year’s Grand Prix and the new bodybuilder competition,
and the Grand Prix title defense match.
Cho Seung-min in bodybuilding won the Grand Prix in the bodybuilding category, beating strong competitors,
including the Grand Prix winner of the previous year.
Hwang Sang-jin in the physique category proved his skills by winning the Grand Prix two years in a row.
Female athletes also showed excellent skills.
Kang Ryeong-eun in body physique won the Grand Prix two years in a row, showing off her incredible skills.
Shim Min-jung, who chose the DRAX Championship as her comeback stage after giving birth,
showed her potential by winning twice as the bikini fitness and sports model.

In the first half of the year, the ‘DRAX Challenger’ will be held for the public.
The participating groups will consist of the ‘Student Group’ for teenagers and university students,
the ‘Ms Group’ for women with children,
and the ‘Special Group’ for people in professions that require good physical ability,
such as police officers, firefighters, soldiers, and physical education teachers.
In the second half of the year (scheduled for September 2-3),
‘The 3rd DRAX Championship’ will be held for professional athletes.
Similar to this year, the competition will consist of seven categories, including bodybuilding, physique, and bikini fitness.
Bodybuilding & Health is an exercise that improves muscle strength and endurance and accelerates metabolism.
It’s a necessary exercise for modern people who lack basic physical strength.
